Support our STEM Education cause by serving as a Mentor of a UTD Student

After the successful UTD Pilot Mentor session last Fall, we learned that students and mentors alike, were positively impacted and fulfilled by the program. We are proud of the program’s success and are continuing the momentum with our Spring Mentor Session running January 27 through April 17.

The program’s structure is flexible in nature and focused on job and career preparation, so you do not have to be in the  technology sector or an official member of the Technology Ball community to be a mentor! We look forward to growing the program and, if you or someone you know, may be interested in learning more about our Spring Semester Session, please contact the Technology Ball team here.

Nearly 75 Mentors and Mentees participated in the 2019 Fall Semester Pilot Mentor Program and shared their feedback to help us improve the suggested curriculum. Some of the most popular topics were the group mentoring week which paired two Mentor groups to create an opportunity for student participants to network with a student peer and a second IT Executive mentor, along with their primary Mentor. The networking and additional professional touch points were valuable in building a professional rolodex for the students, as well as providing additional professional insight and perspective from another Mentor participating in the program. Other highly-valued topics by the students were career and resume preparation and business etiquette insights.

For additional perspective on this low time commitment program, please enjoy the 2019 impact video below, which showcases student and mentor insights into their experience with the mentor program.
